Flashback Friday: Final Flashback of 2008

I hope your winter holidays were spectacular. Considering I'm writing this three days in advance, I intend to make mine a booze-dappled doozy.

Today is the final Friday -- and therefore the final flashback -- of what I consider a pretty successful year. I didn't reach all my running goals, but I made significant progress in 2008.

I experimented with developing my own training plans, which resulted in marked improvement in my racing. With some tinkering, I think I can continue my improvement -- and reach some of those near-misses -- in 2009.

As of this writing, I am 44 miles shy of my 1,000 goal for the year. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday this week were difficult for running with weather and scheduling. No matter what my final mileage tally is for 2008, I have already run 140 more miles than 2007. But I'm still trying to achieve my goal. I'll report back about my progress on Monday or Tuesday. Wish me luck.

As for my 2008 drinking? Well, from what I remember it was pretty good. From what I don't remember, I can only assume it was splendid. My trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., and the Brewery Ommegang was especially wonderful.

Back Talk
Wherein I don't actually have any comments to respond to, but I would like to thank you for the ones you've posted in 2008. They've provided me with plenty of entertainment and content to regurgitate here. I look forward to more flashing back in 2009.

Although, I have no comments to talk back to this week, I will instead award the best comment of 2008. The comment that came closest to making me shoot milk from my nose was from Jess, who suggested, "Maybe you're getting your period" was the reason I was slow back in October. Kudos, Jess, you win the adulation of your peers.

Happy Hour has been going on for like eight days now. Have a fine weekend. Run well and drink well. Cheers!

*Cheers* good buddy. Many prayers for a very productive and satisfying 2009!

Just try to keep the man-spotting down. Temper down that mangina with a vanilla porter.

Cheers to you too Viper!!!

Hey, is Vermouth alcohol? I know I could Google, but you're so much more succinct. A simple yes or no will do.
