Flashback Friday: Once a Runner

So it's been like almost two full weeks since I ran a two-mile, post-marathon recovery run. My legs are probably healed from the race.

So I'd rather spend time with the Enthusiast since my pursuit of my running goals often meant leaving her alone with Dobson. She is so supportive of my running, and now it's her time. We have many plans for autumn fun.

So I'd rather play my banjo instead of running the past two gorgeous fall days. My playing is almost as slow as my recovery pace.

So instead of running, I've been amassing empty beer bottles by the only Booze Hounds-approved method: personal consumption. Brewing season is nigh upon us.

So since I'm not running, hey, look it's our dog!

Dobson just had a bath and is trying to keep warm.
So my running has been non-existent, but the Martini is picking up the slack by running his third marathon in as many weeks at the Towpath Marathon on Sunday. He's shooting for four marathons in four weeks. Good luck, you drunk fool.

Back Talk
Wherein the banjo shall inherit the blog.

BrianFlash intrigued by what is to come during the lazy days ahead: "I definitely want to hear more about this whole banjo thing.

"Plus I expect some free advertisement for my upcoming giveaway!"

Answer: Like my toenails for running, I have to pay close attention to my right index finger for playing the banjo.

Matty B also has the banjo bug this autumn: "I've read the whole post but I am stuck on the first line, 'more banjo'?

"Please, tell me this is true! I have no idea how to play, but picking and grinning is one of my favorite sayings and I truly want to be able to pick of the instrument and rock-out." [sic]

Answer: Been grinning since 2008. This link will take you to a video of the group I play with once a month. Go forth and rock out.

Jamoosh agrees that Terry Fox is the true ultimate runner: "If every runner saw that 30 for 30 you would never hear another runner complain again."

Answer: Testify!

Happy Hour is nearly upon us, teammates. It shaping up to be a finely brewed weekend. Run well and drink well. Cheers!

Hey, you should take your banjo out to the corner with your hat and try to earn some extra cash!

I know the feeling of ditching friends/family for runs. It's not the best feeling ever. Enjoy your time off!
