One of these trail races is in Akron, while the majority of the rest are within an hour's drive. I've been wanting to try trail and cross-country races, and this series could be just the ticket.
In sickly news, I'm feeling much better after taking some sinus medicine. Thanks for all your kind support.
Back Talk
Wherein I actually answer some questions in an informative manner.
On my 2010 Racing Prospectus:
- MissZippy asks: "Where is the buckeye 1/2?"
- Ms. V says: "I'm thinking of doing Akron. Seriously."
- Sun Runner asks: "No Cleveland Half? I'm doing it this year with my dad and I was kinda hoping I'd run into you there."
Answer to No. 2: Be ready for some hills. Seriously.
Answer to No. 3: Yeah, sorry, my training is nowhere near where I would be able to race well. Not worth the price as a fun run. As we say in Cleveland, maybe next year.
On my recent beer price rape at the Lockview, 21 Days Jess asks: "That is dang pricey. Is it infused with diamond dust?"
Answer: No, the Lockview is just using me to fund its owner's coke habit.
On my recent trail runs and the hippie shoes, Xenia asks: "Is it not good to use the hippie shoes on sidewalks or are you just trying to avoid even more people giving you the side eye?"
Answer: As I found out, running on pavement in the hippie shoes is a little less pleasurable than trails. Doable, but less fun. And, yes, a few fewer askance glances.
Happy Hour is nearly upon us, teammates. Have a finely brewed weekend. Run well and drink well. Cheers!

Those XTerra races sound like they'd be right up your alley. I think you should go for it!
Well, phooey...
I'm going to pace my dad to a sub-2:00 race. It should be fun for both of us.
My apologies for using this space for personal reasons, but Running Is Funny fell victim to a particularly debilitating WordPress hack that has struck several hundred blogs.
I've managed to restore the site's layout, but I'm locked out of posting, and no workaround has yet borne fruit.
So far it appears this was simple - but sophisticated - malware vandalism, but it will keep me "off the air" until my host and I can root it all out. Currently, they're playing cover your ass, instead of examining their vulnerabilities.
Thanks for letting me post this. If you can pass along a warning to WordPress bloggers, I'm sure they'll appreciate it. This stinks.
Well, as long as someone is getting coke out of that deal, I guess the dough is worth it ;)
XTERRA put on a lot of really cool tris with trail runs and mountain biking instead of the normal stuff...so I bet the trail runs on their own would be awesome.
My Vibram's are like your hippie Shoes - they prefer the dirt over the concrete.
