It seems I'm always reading about how the United States doesn't measure up well with the rest of the world. We're not smart enough or too fat. And now reader Jerry sends me this piece of news that we can't even drown or mediocre tears in our beers at a high standard. The United States ranks a sorrowful sixth in the world with 4.4 bottles of beer per person per week. Thankfully, my German and Scotch-Irish heritage improves my personal beer quotient.
