Octobernightrunfestbratwurst

A little dillydallying last night and -- p00f! -- my daylight was gone. For the first time in what is soon to be a regularity this season, I had to don my trusty Reflecto-Vest or suffer at the fenders of some oblivious driver. My own lack of vision caused me to adopt as best I could the barefoot running style I have been honing to account for the uneven sidewalks in my neighborhood and those surrounding. This new high-kneed approach should hopefully prevent the kind of faceplant I enjoyed last autumn. Upon my return home, I flung a couple Octoberfest brats (one of four varieties of encased meats from Gibb's Butcher Block) on the stove for dinner, with a spinach salad and a Yuengling Porter to round out my meal. We've officially switched from training runs to don't-get-fat runs.

Dude - running at night on the sidewalks of doom? Your barefootery will soon surpass mine, if you survive...

Lift! Lift! Lift!

Oh man hope you feet don't get too messed up running at night when you can't see.

But hey, at least other people can't see you and that means they won't look at you weird for running without shoes

What we have here is failure to communicate: I adopted my barefoot style while wearing my racing flats. My feet are fine.

Oh... well, you were at least drunk, right?

LOL! I am always on a don't-get-fat run. The training part just keeps getting mixed in somehow.

I'll be running the don't-get-fat-runs for the Winter. I'm soooo with you.

On a side note, there was a gentleman in the MCM on Sunday who ran the entire race barefoot. I thought of you. And then pain.

We had daylight savings here last weekend. It gets dark here by 4 pm now so I either have to run blindly at night or wake up at the ass-crack of dawn to run. Winter blows.

You know, I was recently reading a pretty interesting article about the "Transition Season."

I think you do a much better job of explaining, however. "Don't get fat" runs. Perfect. Enjoy the BRATS!
