Returning to Form

While some people call me a wuss for sitting out the last couple weeks because of the weather, I am not the one who is now laid up with sickness and not running this week. I tallied another three miles last night at a semi-difficult pace to shake off the humiliation of Tuesday's last place effort. My pace was a minute and 10 seconds faster this go around.

It has been good to get back to consistent running. In the last four days my mileage has more than doubled for the month. The streets are mostly clear, and the snow on the sidewalks is now more manageable for running.

The temperatures have climbed above zero. And today the temperature is not only going to be positive, but -- my goodness! -- above freezing, well, almost. Close enough. You'd better believe I'm going to be out there again this evening.

The temps are going to be in the 60s here in Denver today, but I won't be running much over the remainder of the month. I'm just starting to enjoy getting out of form.

Out of curiosity, do you have a race coming up or are you just going to run whenever old man winter isn't trying to chap your ass?

It's warmer when you run in those temps than it is when you walk in 'em - take my word, brother.

Heck yes! I'm running tonight. It is so nice to run and not have ice form on your face and shirt.

This weekend we get more snow though :(

It really feels like it should be March. Not because it's so warm today, but because it's been so cold for so seemingly long. But keep growing that beard-- old man winter will be back (looking a lot like I imagine you).

I love how we can get so excited about weather that gets above freezing. Heck I cheered last week when it got into double digits last week after about three days of single digits and negative temps.

I'll be out tonight enjoying the heat wave as well.

What-EVER. I ran 5 miles on Sunday (pre-flu) and am going out for 3 tonight. Put that in your beer stein and chug it, buddy. ;P

Brrr... Good job getting out there. I got to enjoy 39 degrees today.

I ran in rain! It was 55, but doesn't that qualify as *elements*?

Good for you for getting out there in the cold! I know I'd be getting a hot drink and skipping it if I lived in the snow.

While it's warming for you, that frigid weather snuck its way down here to FL! I didn't think it was capable of being so sneaky, but it was!

You know it was cold last week when 38 degrees feels like a heat wave.
