Pending Parenthood No Longer Pending

OK, so it's been a minute — or 28,800 — since my last post. But I have a good excuse.

On the two-year anniversary of our nuptials, Mrs. Viper and I learned we'd enter parenthood sooner than expected. After an ultrasound that morning, our celebratory plans were replaced with a scheduled inducement that night. At 4:29 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 11, our son was born.

As the Bard says, "Shit just got real."

The Little Man is a featherweight, but he's eating like a champ to level up. Everyone is home and healthy, albeit in a constant state of tired.

I haven't run since the Monday before he was born, a run where a GPS faux pas resulted in a tabulation of some eight miles, which sure, why not? My legs felt sore enough, having emphasized exploding up the hills while trying to avoid blowing up my run in the process. I've had plenty of time to recuperate, but who knows when my next run may come?

On a side note, the wife has been requesting Guinness, with brewer's yeast a supposed aid for producing breast milk, so that's a bonus.

All in all, life is good.

Photos, you ask? Well, I'm dubious about posting those. I'll think about whether my son is ready for this particular limelight.

Congrats Vipers!!!! So excited for you guys and glad to hear that all of you are doing well and thriving. Would love to see a pic if you wanted to share but totally understand why you might not. These times, they are a changing.

Congratulations! I wish you, Mrs Viper and Viper Jr all the best.

And don't feel the need to post photos. That kid will be posting his own selfies on the interwebs sooner than you think.

Congrats to you! Nothing better than a new baby, even with the lack of sleep, which I do know is tough. Enjoy!

Congrats! Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

It's a tough adjustment and the lack of sleep is hard, but enjoy it! He'll never be so tiny again.

Congrats! If I wasn't up feeding and changing our little big guy I probably would have missed this entirely as my blog reading has been nonexistent.

No worries on the pic. I'll just wait for the twerking video. ;)

I can't believe I stop reading blogs for a few weeks and...this happens. Congratulations, your life is over. Way to think it through.

If you need any advice on raising a happy, well-adjusted child... don't call me. BUT, if you are looking for help raising a mild narcissist with borderline sociopathic tendencies, I'm your guy!

Seriously, congats!
