The Two-Way Candle

Working to meet deadlines at work and then going home to work on moving is starting to catch up me, I fear. Last night, I returned from work and listlessly began packing another box. When Mrs. Viper came home, we loaded up the cars and dropped off our first batch of boxes to the new house.

The echo of the empty space felt eerie. We're officially in an unsettled state of being between two homes.

We brought Dobson, whose spastic exploration of the house was all too amusing until he almost dropped a turd on the wood flooring. I managed to stop him in time and took him outside to christen the back yard.

I began unboxing the parts to our new bed frame that we bought at IKEA a couple weeks ago, but my lovely wife stopped me before putting it together.

"We've done enough today," she said. "It's been a long day for both of us."

We were planning to eat dinner on pillows set on the empty living room floor. Instead, we left our soon-to-be home to eat Taco Bell at our soon-not-to-be home.

There is still so much to be done. This will all be over Saturday.

I remember the car caravaning. At first there is excitement; then it gets tedious; then you are on the last load and you are HOME!

Oh, man...I want to make a joke about "christening" and "bed frame" but I won't because I'm classy. :)

Moving is stressful. But, it'll be over soon, and you'll be so happy to be all settled into the new pad for the holidays!
