When Not Running Equals a Rest Day

Yesterday, I did not run, an instance that has not been rare over the past few months, but this time it was because I was resting instead of just being lazy.

A rest day? I haven't needed one of those since the Akron Marathon, even though I took more than my fair share in the mean time.

My calves and quadriceps were aching from two runs in a row, and my body actually needed a day off. However, I did run around the coffee table a dozen times when I got home from work, riling up the dog, which for some reason was extra spastic last night.

By taking yesterday off, I missed some dreary weather and today my legs feel fresh. This afternoon, I'll hit the road again, taking advantage of better Spring-like weather, the kind that is sunny and somewhat warm.

Shouldn't you have to run like 73 days in a row now to make up for your "rest days" from the beginning of the year? Hope you enjoyed it because you owe us all consistent running until July 4th weekend, at least. No more rest days 'til then.

I would like to brag and say I am taking a "rest week" but apparently you have already taken several of those...

Why is it that dogs like being chased around the coffee table? I can't complain though, it is an easy way to burn off energy without really have to go anywhere.
