Born Again Runner

Sunday marked my determined return to running. After logging only a single run per week for the last four weeks, my mind was made up to get back on the mileage wagon. I'm sick of this increasingly saggy bag of bones and climbing weight limit.

Last night, as I had to wait until it cooled down to run, I hit the road for an agonizingly slow four miles around the neighborhood, removing my Vibram FiveFingers for the last half-mile or so for my first barefootery of the year. I followed that up with some self-flagellation, which consisted of quick sets of 10 push-ups and 50 bicycle sit-ups.

My body is a bit miffed at me this morning, but just wait until I pull into the Hampton Hills parking lot for another three miles of trails after work. I've brought my running clothes to the office so I don't lose motivation upon getting home this evening.

Be honest, were you inspired by Nitmos's Izzy Mendelbaum post? haha

Good luck getting back in the groove.
