Nowhere to Run

The Super Shuttle driver pulled off the highway into a janky area of Houston, and my stomach sank, hoping that this was not my stop. The driver said my name, "Are you going to an apartment?"

The hotel wasn't in the shuttle company's address base, which wasn't a good sign to begin with, but it got worse when the driver didn't recognize it either. The hotel, where I'm writing this post while alternately watching Domino's sweet online order tracker as my pizza is being made, only gave me the phone number to two places that delivered to this location. The other was Pizza Hut.

Across the street is a gas station. Otherwise I'm surrounded by highway and nowhere safe to run. I'm stuck inside of the Scott Inn & Suites with the Houston blues again.

My pizza is here.

Are you off of Scott St? That has a pleasantly treacherous looking sidewalk for a few miles.

The Dominoes Man gave you two cures, then said dig right in. One was supreme with extra cheese, and the other was sausage again...
Oh, mama, can this really be the end??? to be stuck inside of the Scott Inn & Suites with the Houston blues again.

Ugh, I travel as well and deal with the same thing sometimes. I also end up ordering pizza, because it is so awesome. I feel your pain.

Ugh, I've been there. I once stayed at an airport hotel in St. Louis where we couldn't even get pizza delivered - literally, the only two options were the Champs sports bar downstairs or room service (with the same food options). One time we actually bribed the shuttle bus driver to take us to the nearest restaurant... which turned out to be a Denny's a few miles away. AWFUL.
