Flashback Friday: Race Recovery

It's hard to believe the Akron Marathon was just last weekend. It seems like forever ago, probably because my legs aren't feeling any soreness. They are, however, itching to get out for a run.

While Mrs. Viper recovers from a bout of sciatica, my progress toward one-armed push-ups has resumed. This morning marked a step forward with what some call "pseudo one-armed push-ups," where the non-working arm slides out to side to help support the weight-bearing arm.

Meanwhile, it's time to get back to healthy eating. My diet has been not good. Yesterday was a new low, as my breakfast consisted of three doughnuts someone brought to the office and dinner was four leftover tacos and a meat and bean "salad" to get rid of the remainder of the fixings. My weight is right back where it doesn't belong.

These are the goals for final three months of 2012:
  • Reach 533 miles
  • Drop six pounds
  • One one-armed push-up
Today's lunch? Almonds, cottage cheese, a plum and carrots. I'm going to be starving by dinnertime.

BackTalk
Wherein some readers fail to glean all the details

Jamoosh thinks my marathon recap was lacking: "I fear you have not shared all the details. What was the real beer you enjoyed to celebrate your accomplishment?"

Answer: While you apparently skipped over the part where I mentioned Great Lakes Octoberfest, I did leave out another celebratory beer.

Tasty!
Happy Hour is nearly upon us, teammates! Have a finely brewed weekend. Run well and drink well. Cheers!

So, what are your goals for the final three months of 2012?

Sciatica - it's all about the glutes. Let me know if you want details.
