So What Do We Do Now?

My running was more consistent before "training" began. Heck, so was my blogging.

The heat. The schedule. The inertia. All plagues against this house.

My weight, My mileage. My fitness. All factors leading to a loss of confidence.

The Akron Marathon hangs like a millstone around my sunburned neck. How will this ever happen?

My last run was a dozen days ago. Just like my favorite sports teams, this has become a complete collapse.

Lately, my thoughts have wandered into the realm of just packing it in and waiting until next year.

Is it too late to jump back on the horse?

You can still rally in time. It's Akron. Not even a question.

Ask yourself how much you'll regret it if you miss Akron and break the streak (this is your 'streak' race, right?) You don't want to be kicking yourself for years because of one summer of lesser motivation. How 'bout just treat it as a complete fun run with absolutely no time goals....just finish.

P.S. Cleveland sucks.

I haven't posted on my blog in a month. So now who's a blog slacker?

Akron is, what, 9 weeks away? That's not too short of a time to whip yourself into reasonable shape. Sure, you might not be able to pull off another sub-4, but it's your hometown race and I know you love it.
