A long holiday weekend with no runs, and I'm not going to fall into the trap of self loathing. The respite was just what I needed: a break. Life is good, but busy.
Last Thursday's eight-miler on the Buckeye Trail was a great way to kick off a full week of no running. Today I return to trails after work. In between, there was time spent with family and my beloved, banjo pickin' with my monthly jam mates, dinner at Lola before the Katy Perry concert, some tasty beverages, watching local fireworks through the trees, picking up another book to read while in the middle of three others, and just plain rest and relaxation.
The march of time is glaringly evident this summer as the days stream by like freight cars on an intrepid train. We're counting down to the wedding in days now, and soon after will be the Akron Marathon. If you don't take the time to enjoy the present, it will disappear among the forgotten past.
I don't remember who said it first, but any day I can get out and run is a luxury. I'll do my best to live as luxuriously as possible.

You went to a Katy Perry concert? I want to mock you for it but it's a lot less fun when you make it this easy.
Katy Perry? Like Ian, I am jealous.
Katy Perry? But she doesn't play the banjo...
