I bailed on a cold run last night in favor of a warmer weekend weather forecast, frailed on my banjo for an hour, and sat down to watch something that hadn't happened since 2003. The Browns of Cleveland beat the Steelers of Pittsburgh for the first time in six years, snapping a 12-game losing streak to the black and gold jerks.
The last time this happened, the Brown's field general was Tim Couch, a vaunted college quarterback out of Kentucky who came to the Browns to end his playing days by getting sacked 166 times in 62 games between 1999 and 2003. Couch's legacy in Cleveland is not his win-loss record, but a tearful post-game interview he gave after suffering a concussion.
Cleveland fans will say that a win over Pittspuke always matters, but this win actually does in this case. The Browns doubled their wins and likely knocked the Steelers out of the playoffs after winning the Super Bowl last year. Take that!

that was a huge win for the Browns. my brother-in-law is a huge Steelers fan, so I made sure to call him.

I've been rooting for Cleveland. Now that Rams move ahead of them for the first pick in the draft!
