Working Hard to Get My Fill

It all starts with belief. You have to believe. I believe. In my training plan. I have run farther. I have run faster. I believe. In my race approach. I can be patient. I can be calculated. I believe. In myself. I have run this race. I have raced this strategy. I believe.

In the course of running a marathon, you have to believe. You have to believe, and you can't stop believing. Because there will be heart swells and heart aches, exhilaration and pain. But you can't stop. It goes on and on and on and on.

During the second half of my last 20-miler, the familiar thumping piano chords of an appropriate theme song floated into my mind's ear ...

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlight, people

Don't stop

Um. I love this song. I played it twice on my 5 miler Tuesday. My 12year old's favorite song. Somehow this song keeps going on and on and on...

Funny, I can't look away from his, um...jeans.

Love it Viper. Good luck!!

That song would have been so much better if Steve Perry had realized there's no such place as "South Detroit." As it is, even I have to concede it's pretty rocking.

I really want you to succeed. Get a good night's sleep (if you can, LOL) and good luck tomorrow morning. I'll be thinking of you. Go kick some ASS!
