The Wait

The training is over and done with. Nothing left to do but keep the legs loose, stay healthy and wait. The Akron Marathon is a week and a half away. Ran three miles Monday and will run four tonight. Tomorrow is the final track session before the race. Nothing crazy. A couple 400s, a couple 800s. Step up, step down. Stay loose, stay healthy. Maintain.

Vive l'Viper!!!

Hoo-rah!

Just working on a list of battle cries for you to use when you head out the gate...

You got this Viper!

Sounds like a good plan. The waiting game sucks, but just keep those legs loose!

Gotta love the taper. Stay loosey goosey and you are good to go.

Are you tapering your blog posts too? Use the time spent not running to write longer posts, lazy.

I'm aware of the irony in my comment.

ugh. I'm so jealous. 6 more weeks for me - 3 of hard training. Good luck!

Ugh I HATE this part. In your free time you can watch me attempt for a sub-3 marathon and likely blow up at mile 17 from the heat. UGH! I hate the wait! Look what it's doing to my confidence!

So. When are you going to start abstaining from booze? Or...are you? ;)

Do you feel that? There's a weird tugging in your calf muscles.

Hope it's not a tear.

No taper madness. Good for you! Join the club of sane runners. We actually enjoy the taper because we have more time for other things ;)

sure, most runners would use this time to mentally screw themselves up; but I'm sure you wouldn't do that to yourself...obsessively thinking of every little thing that can go wrong. nope, not you.

happy taper, I'll be there next week.

Last weekend, I tried a new beer the night before the race, and it was SO DELICIOUS. I would attribute it to my success. I can't find it around me, but hopefully since you're closer to the source (St. Louis), you may be able to find it? It's the Boulevard Sixth Glass Quadrupel. http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/boulevard-sixth-glass-quadrupel/67257/

I think that plan is missing a key element: beer.
