My weekend running has taken a major hit since the Akron Marathon. The last time I ran on a Saturday or Sunday was Oct. 10, and that was only four miles. My last run of any distance was Oct. 4, an eight-miler. I guess it's no surprise that October produced my lowest mileage since January.
Here is October's statistical rundown:
- Total Miles: 50 miles (13 runs)
- Highest Weekly: 12 miles
- Average Weekly: 12.5 miles
- Average Pace: 9:59.676 per mile
- Longest/Fastest Run: 8 miles, 9:03 pace
- The Monthly Dif: -87 miles (137 miles in September)
Ever tried. In other news, an American won the New York City Marathon. Meb Keflezighi (gesundheit) finished in 2:09:15 to become the first American man to win the race since Alberto Salazar in 1982. If you want a more nuanced breakdown of the race, visit The Science of Sport.
Ever failed.
No matter.
Try again.
Fail again.
Fail better.

Post marathon doldrums? Or Oktoberfest side effect?
ReplyDeleteDamnit...I thought this post was going to be a review of a Matthew McConaughey movie. How disappointing.
ReplyDeleteWinter Maintenance Plan ??? I don't even want to think about winter yet. Let's enjoy Fall for a little bit dude !
ReplyDeleteNo kidding...
ReplyDeleteWay not to enjoy the current season ;-)
I'm also suffering from a lack of implementation of my 'winter' training plan.
ReplyDeleteMeh winters not reallllly here yet...I think you've got another week or two before you kick off that plan.
ReplyDeleteI begrudgingly admit that I laughed at the gesundheit comment.
ReplyDeleteSo, does this slackery mean you're going to have another last minute freak-out about reaching your yearly mileage again? Because I do so enjoy your histrionics.
I am jealous of all of you and your post marathon doldrums! Share the misery! JK. I am just being jealous taht I didn't run a marathon this season. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteLove the precision on the average pace calculation. And this from a Garmin hater!
